Anthem of Winter's Harbinger
The Black Hearth laid cold and empty in the great hall. Sar stood in front of the wood for the winter's flame stacked neatly like an altar and smiled knowing that so little would last the Choir until summer. Unfortunately it would not be lit until the solstice that evening and the lion would have to suffer the cold until then. The permafrost on which the temple was built was too thin during the summer.
Black robes fluttered absently as the clan gathered into the hall. Cubs raced away from their sisters, singing and giggling to get a spot on the icy floor near the altar to best hear the Anthem. Sar smiled, seeing their faces filled with light
